New LOST Secrets Revealed at Comic Con

As Team PCS continues to reel from the fact that we weren't able to make it to Comic Con this year, the news that LOST showrunners Damon Lindelof and Carlton Cuse showed up to take part in EW's 'Totally LOST: One Year Later' panel makes it sting a little worse. Especially since Cuse appeared in full storm trooper armor to hide his identity until reveal time!!

But the best part of all is this new LOST clip that has a little fun with the notion of whether the ending was "planned all along" in this clip that was "cut" from the season 1 finale which - most importantly - finally reveals the name of the Man in Black.

Enjoy...

True Blood Season 4 - "She's Not There"

Hey, True Blood is BACK, and in good timing to make me forget how much I miss Tyrion Lannister.

I guess we have to talk about that opening scene, don’t we? We can’t just pretend that it didn’t happen, hope Alan Ball learned a lesson, and move on? No?

With the blur of events over a few short months in the past three seasons, I’m glad the writers thought to give the characters some breathing room and time to recuperate. It was much needed.

I did NOT anticipate the jump in time from Sookie’s perspective. I kind of feel bad for the girl. She’s been home like, two days in the past year and a half. Who picks up her mail? She must have the most understanding postman ever, making the long trip up Hummingbird Road day after day. Maybe Bill. That seems like something he would do. “Sookkeh, I have come to returrnnah your pohhstal mahhle.”

First Look: J.J. Abrams' Person Of Interest

I'll admit that I thought the premise sounded iffy at best, but after watching the trailer - I'm a believer in  JJ Abrams/Jonah Nolan's Person Of Interest starring Michal Emerson and Jim Caviezel.

I mean, what more could you want then the guy who played Ben Linus and the guy who played... well... Jesus in a sort've updated version of Marvel Comic's 'The Punisher'?

Well, how about (as is implied by the trailer) a computer that gives them numbers assigned to people that are about to commit violent crimes so that they can trump violence with violence (what the what?)? I was sold at Caviezel's delivery of the line "I don't like killing people, but I am very good at it"... Sounds very Ben Linus, doesn't it?

Trailer and official synopsis below. Person Of Interest airs this fall on CBS.

PERSON OF INTEREST stars Jim Caviezel, Emmy Award winner Michael Emerson and Academy Award nominee Taraji P. Henson in a crime thriller about a presumed dead former-CIA agent who teams up with a mysterious billionaire to prevent violent crimes by using their own brand of vigilante justice. Reese's (Caviezel) special training in covert operations appeals to Finch (Emerson), a software genius who invented a program that uses pattern recognition to identify people about to be involved in violent crimes.

Using state-of-the-art surveillance technology, the two work outside of the law using Reese's adept skills and Finch's unlimited wealth to unravel the mystery of the person of interest and stop the crime before it happens. Reese's actions catch the attention of the NYPD, including homicide detective Carter (Henson), and Fusco (Kevin Chapman), a cop who Reese uses to his advantage. With infinite crimes to investigate, Reese and Finch find that the right person, with the right information, at the right time, can change everything. Emmy Award winners J.J. Abrams and Bryan Burk ("Lost"), Academy Award nominee Jonathan Nolan ("Memento"), David Semel ("Heroes") and Greg Plageman ("Cold Case") are the executive producers for Warner Bros. Television.

First Look: J.J. Abrams' Alcatraz

Here's the first look at the new J.J. Abrams Drama/Crime/Sci-fi(?) show Alcatraz set to premiere mid season 2011-12 on FOX.

Executive produced by geek guru Abrams and Lost and Deadwood alum Elizabeth Sarnoff, Alcatraz stars Sarah Jones and everyone's favorite cursed lottery winner, Lost's Jorge Garcia. Below is the preview and the official synopsis from FOX. It's safe to say that Team PCS is excited about this one...

When San Francisco Police Department DET. REBECCA MADSEN (Sarah Jones, “Sons of Anarchy”) is assigned to a grisly homicide case, a fingerprint leads her to a shocking suspect: JACK SYLVANE (guest star Jeffrey Pierce, “The Nine”), a former Alcatraz inmate who died decades ago. Given her family history – both her grandfather and surrogate uncle, RAY ARCHER (Robert Forster, “Jackie Brown”), were guards at the prison – Madsen’s interest is immediately piqued, and once the enigmatic, knows-everything-but-tells-nothing government agent EMERSON HAUSER (Sam Neill, “Jurassic Park”) tries to impede her investigation, she’s doggedly committed. Madsen turns to Alcatraz expert and comic book enthusiast, DR. DIEGO “DOC” SOTO (Jorge Garcia, “Lost”), to piece together the inexplicable sequence of events. The twosome discovers that Sylvane is not only alive, but he’s loose on the streets of San Francisco, leaving bodies in his wake. And strangely, he hasn’t aged a day since he was in Alcatraz, when the prison was ruled by the iron-fisted WARDEN EDWIN JAMES (Jonny Coyne, “Undercovers”) and the merciless ASSOCIATE WARDEN E.B. TILLER (Jason Butler Harner, “The Changeling”). Madsen and Soto reluctantly team with Agent Hauser and his technician, LUCY BANERJEE (Parminder Nagra, “ER”), to stop Sylvane’s vengeful killing spree.

By delving into Alcatraz history, government cover-ups and Rebecca’s own heritage, the team will ultimately discover that Sylvane is only a small part of a much larger, more sinister present-day threat. For while he may be the first, it quickly becomes clear that Sylvane won’t be the last prisoner to reappear from Alcatraz. Through the course of the investigation, Madsen and Soto will learn that Agent Hauser has known about the prison’s secret history and has been awaiting the prisoners’ return. Soto will witness his life’s work – the history of Alcatraz – come alive. Madsen will be forced to keep her supportive San Francisco cop fiancĂ©, JIMMY DICKENS (Santiago Cabrera, “Heroes”), at arm’s length from the highly classified assignment as she sees everything she thought she knew about her family’s past shattered, all while fighting to keep the country safe from history’s most dangerous criminals

Fringe - thoughts on "The Day We Died"

Hats off to Fringe's show runners Jeff Pinkner and JH Wyman - you've done it again.

This season has been filled with episodes that I enjoyed but that I felt didn't do much to move the story along until the final 5 minutes which made you re-evaluate the entire episode and its place in the season.

The season 3 finale, 'The Day We Died', was no exception to that pattern.

Fringe Season Finale Trailer - 'The Day We Died'

Mind = blown.

This puts the same feeling in my stomach that I felt with each Lost season finale - a mixture of joy at waiting to see how it would play out and dread at thought of waiting 4+ months for a new season while pondering on whatever jaw-dropping cliff-hanger they ended on...
